Gurunpa Kindergarten
Categories:Children's
Gurunpa is a big, lonely elephant. Biscuit shops, shoe shops, piano factories, car factories... Gurunpa works hard at various workplaces, but the things he creates are too big and he always fails. At that time, Gurunpa meets a mother who has many children. Gurunpa, who is asked to take care of the children, makes wonderful things. It was a wonderful kindergarten where many children could play with big things made by Gurunpa.

Product Description
Grunpa, a big lonely elephant. It's dirty and smells bad. The elephants in the jungle who couldn't bear to see him cleaned themselves and sent them out to work. But no matter where I worked - at a biscuit shop, making plates, at a shoe shop, at a piano factory, at a car factory - I always made things that were too big, so I was quickly kicked out.
When I see Gurunpa rubbing his ear against the grass, saying, "I'm so lonely, so lonely,'' or feeling depressed after failing because he's too excited, my heart aches unbearably. That's why you'll want to applaud him from the bottom of his heart when he opens his "kindergarten'' and is surrounded by children working lively.
The bright and easy-to-understand pictures match the story perfectly. Particularly fun are the pages depicting kindergarten. Children climbing on Gurunpa's body and playing. Hide and seek with the shoes, and the plates in the pool. And a big big biscuit. Even after everyone eats, "there's still a lot left." A masterpiece picture book released in 1965. (Shima Kadokura)
Comment from the publisher
The author, who was 26 years old at the time and moved from one agency to another as a copywriter, is a clumsy elephant named Gurunpa who changes jobs from shop to shop. Minami Nishiuchi's image is projected. Mr. Nishiuchi, who had no idea what a picture book was, decided to write a story about an even bigger elephant, and he wrote it in one night, and the story was published in magazines such as "an?Ean'', "POPEYE'', and "BRUTUS''. Seiichi Horiuchi, who designed the logo, completed the painting in one go, creating a rare masterpiece. If you want to read to them: from 4 years old If you want to read by yourself: from the lower grades of elementary school
