About the Author
Born in America and raised in Germany. After studying art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, he returned to the United States in 1952 and became a graphic designer. The picture book "1, 2, 3 Animals'' published in 1968 won the Graphic Grand Prize at the Bologna International Children's Book Exhibition. Since then, he has been active as a picture book author. Including the worldwide bestseller "The Very Hungry Caterpillar'', "Daddy, Take the Moon!'' ?h, ?gDan Mari Cricket?h, ?gMysterious Mane of Tanjobi?h, ?gCan you do it??h From head to toe?h ?gImpossible! ?h and many other works. In 2002, he established the Eric Carle Picture Book Museum in Massachusetts, USA. In 2003, she won the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award (now the Children's Literature Heritage Award).
Real name: Sentaro Morikubo. Author, picture book researcher, and poet. Her collection of poems includes "Moon Valley''. Her original picture books include the Koguma-chan picture book series, "Kumasa Burou'' and "Little Iroikasa''. Translations of picture books include "The Very Hungry Caterpillar'' and "Daddy, take the moon!'' ?h "Uncle Ernest the Bear'' series. Passed away in 2018.
