?? From the preface
It has already been 40 years since I have been working on tattoo paintings, but in recent years it seems like more and more young women are getting into tattooing.
The number of people who come to me for sketches is increasing, and I often have the opportunity to draw portraits of women with elegant tattoos on their young skin.
This art book includes those paintings, and now it feels like they are on par with ordinary men.
Women are energetic -- this is probably why it is called the "age of females.'' It seems that the symbol of manhood that the young people of Edo once bravely wore has become, over time, one of the glamorous fashion styles that decorate women today.
It would be my great pleasure if you could enjoy the signs of this in this art book. In addition, this time, for the first time, I have drawn and recorded a "drawing.''
Please take a look at the hands of an artist who has dedicated himself to tattooing. ???? Kaname Ozuma

?? Words of Recommendation
Third generation tattooist Horiyoshi
Kaname Ozuma's tattooed bijinga paintings made him famous worldwide. We have been friends for about 35 years, but the number of tattoos he has drawn since then is probably over 1,000. Despite this, he doesn't worry too much about it and is determined to keep painting until his brush breaks and he runs out of paint.
With that kind of spirit, I am taking a step towards becoming a 100-shaku pole.

?? About the author
Kaname Ozuma
Born in 1939 in Kashiwazaki, Niigata Prefecture. From an early age, he received lessons in Japanese painting from his uncle, Japanese painter Soshi Sakai.
He moved to Tokyo at the age of 18, where he worked as a printmaker and trained under an art dealer, and also interacted with famous Japanese painters.
Afterwards, while continuing to draw illustrations and book covers in the publishing industry, he established the world of tattooed beauty paintings.
His gorgeous drawings have become a model for tattoo artists in Japan and have had a great influence on tattoo artists overseas.
In August 2010, Kaname Ozuma's Tattoo Art Exhibition was held in Los Angeles and received great acclaim. Member of the Japanese Literature Club.
