About the author
Born in 1928 in Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture. The pen name "Osamushi" was taken from the name of an insect called ground beetle. Real name: Osamu. After graduating from the Osaka University School of Medicine, he earned a doctorate in medicine. Debuted in 1946 with "Maachan's Diary". It has mass-produced popular manga in a wide range of fields, creating nationally popular manga such as "Black Jack,'' "Astro Boy,'' "Knight of the Ribbon,'' "Firebird,'' and "Jungle Emperor.''
