Comment from the publisher
It is possible to depict feminine beauty with such a modern sensibility. Are there any other Japanese painters?
A woman's expression shows melancholy and complex emotions. The elegant decoration of the clothes and backgrounds, which make extensive use of flowers and plants, and the nostalgic tones with an aged look...his style is unique.
It is full of beauty that will make the viewer's body burn.
In Japanese art, there is a lineage of beautiful women paintings that were originally depicted on the "Torige Tate Onna Byobu'' at Shosoin Temple and flourished in ukiyo-e prints in the Edo period.
Even after the Meiji period, Takehisa Yumeji, Kaburagi Kiyokata, and Uemura Shoen gained popularity, but
the genre of bijinga disappeared for a while after that. The supernova that appeared there was Professor Yasunori Ikenaga.
In this collection of paintings, you can see a group of works by Mr. Ikenaga that are like the Kira star, which can be called the "foremost line of beauty paintings''.
