About the Author
Tadanori Yokoo...Born in Nishiwaki City, Hyogo Prefecture in 1936 (Showa 11). Artist. Active as a graphic designer since the 1960s. In 1968, his poster "Loincloth Osen'' for "Gekidan Situation Theater'' was selected as a "major work of the 1960s'' at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and in 1972 he had a solo exhibition at the same museum. He had solo exhibitions at the Kunstmuseum Hamburg in 1973 and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam in 1974. After his "Declaration as an Artist" in 1981, he continued to develop works such as the "Taki" series, "Adventure Paintings" series, "Red" series, "Y-Junction" series, and "Hot Spring Series". Invited to exhibit at biennales in Paris, Venice, Sao Paulo, Bangladesh, etc. In recent years, he has held major solo exhibitions at the Setagaya Museum of Art in 2008, the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art, and the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa in 2009. In 2006, his solo exhibition at Fondation Cartier Contemporary Art in Paris received high praise internationally, and he continues to be active internationally.
