About the author
Born in Tokyo in 1933. Graduated from Tokyo College of Music, Department of Vocal Music. She joined the NHK Broadcasting Theater Company and became the first actress in Japan to be trained for television. Debuted on the serial radio program "Yanbo Ninbo Tonbo". In addition to television, he is active in a wide range of genres including plays and concerts. She has won the 1st Broadcast Writers Association Actress Acting Award, the NHK Broadcasting Culture Award, and the Television Grand Prize Excellence Individual Award. "Totto-chan by the Window'' became a million-seller and won the "Roadside Stone Literary Award'' and Poland's highest literary award, "Janusz Korczak Award.'' The Tot Fund was established with the royalties. Since 1983, she has been a UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund) Goodwill Ambassador and is active internationally.

Born in 1918 in Takefu, Fukui Prefecture. Graduated from Tokyo Prefectural 6th Girls' High School. In 1973, he won the Graphic Grand Prize at the Bologna International Children's Book Exhibition for Kotori no Kuruhi (Shikosha). His representative works include "Amenohinoorusuban'' (Shikosha), "Children in the War'' (Iwasaki Shoten), and his art collection "The Complete Works of Chihiro Iwasaki'' (Holp Publishing). Died in 1974. The original illustrations for this book are preserved at the Iwasaki Chihiro Picture Book Museum (4-7-2 Shimoshakujii, Nerima-ku, Tokyo).
