Jiro Taniguchi is the creator of numerous manga works, including "The Gourmet of Solitude," "The Age of Botchan," and "Mountain of the Gods." Along with Katsuhiro Otomo, he is known as a manga artist who was influenced by M?bius, a master of the French comic book world, Bande Dessin?e, and has been praised not only in Japan but also overseas, including France, and has won numerous awards. This is an art book that looks back on that accomplishment with original drawings.
The original drawings will be selected by a distinguished group of members including Rumiko Takahashi (manga artist), Katsuya Terada (illustrator), Mari Yamazaki (manga artist), and Tadahiro Uesugi (illustrator). Of course, each selected original drawing is displayed in a large format, and each one also includes a comment explaining the reason for the selection.
In addition, the original co-creators Baku Yumemakura, Natsuo Sekigawa, and Masayuki Kusumi have selected about 10 original drawings from the manga works they were involved with and provided comments.
