About the Author
Bret Mayer/Born in 1982/Kanji Educator
Born and raised in New Jersey, USA , currently residing in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. In the fall of 2012, he became the first foreigner from a non-kanji culture to pass the Kanji Proficiency Test Level 1. As a result, he was able to pass all levels of the Kanji Test. In the spring of 2013, he was certified as a kanji educator by Ritsumeikan University's Shizuka Shirakawa Memorial Research Institute for Oriental Letters and Culture, and currently teaches kanji to not only foreigners but also Japanese people through television, radio, and the Internet. It conveys its charm.
