A collection of illustration works commemorating the 45th anniversary of Seizo Watase's art career
Mr. Watase has been familiar with painting since childhood, and after graduating from university, while working at an insurance company, he created manga and illustrations and made his debut as a manga artist in 1974. For a while, I will continue to work as a salaryman. He began serializing "Heart Cocktail'' in 1983, and his urbane and stylish style attracted the support of many readers, and he chose to devote himself to painting. Since then, he has released comic works such as "Na'' (1992-98), which depicts the subtleties of men and women as well as seasonal scenes, and "Wonder Cocktail'' (2018-), which is currently being serialized, while also providing illustrations for fashion magazine and novel covers, record and CD jackets, corporate advertisements, calendars, and various goods. His unique sense of style has gained popularity both domestically and internationally, and in recent years, coupled with the boom of the 1980s, his works have once again been attracting attention.
This book, a set of two books in a case, is the first full-fledged collection of Mr. Watase's wide-ranging illustrations. First of all, "JOURNEY Colored Traveler'' with the blue cover is a carefully selected selection of Mr. Watase's vast illustrations categorized into categories. We also publish articles covering the production process and long interviews. "SEASONS'', which has a red cover, includes all the visuals of Mr. Watase's original calendar produced and published every year for over 30 years, along with poems that accompany the pictures. The content allows you to fully enjoy Mr. Watase's world and get a bird's-eye view of his long career.

Real name: Masazo Watase. Born in Kobe in 1945, moved to Kitakyushu shortly after birth. After graduating from Waseda University's Faculty of Law, he began painting while working at an insurance company. In 1974, he won the 13th Big Comic Award and made his debut as a manga artist in the same year.
In 1983, "Heart Cocktail'' was serialized in "Weekly Morning'' and gained popularity. In 1985, he retired from an insurance company and devoted himself to painting. In 1987, he won the 33rd Bungeishunju Manga Award for "Private Detective Philip''.
