About the author
Akashi Ueda
Born in 1991.
He creates works that evoke a sense of sadness, with themes of memory and longing.
Heavily influenced by art, music, and movies since he was a child, he expresses his works in a variety of styles and motifs, from cute ones to bizarre giant creatures, centered on the attributes of pop surrealism.
His main activity was in Japan, but in 2019 he won first place in the sculpture category of the world art competition "Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize.'' Since then, his activities in English-speaking countries have become more serious, and he has also successfully held a solo museum exhibition in Asia called "Prayer Ruins'' (Beijing, China).
In 2021, he was hospitalized due to a ruptured cerebral blood vessel. He recovered with some visual impairment.
