A story before the previous work "Misao and Fukumaru".
This is how Grandma Misao and her cat Fukumaru's life began.

Photographer Miyoko Ihara's first photo book "Misao and Fukumaru" (published by our company) was published in the fall of 2011, and is popular not only in Japan but all over the world. It has captured the hearts of many people and has become a huge hit, with 70,000 copies sold to date.
Mr. Ihara has been photographing his grandmother for 14 years, from his school days to the present.
My previous work "Misao and Fukumaru'' was born from photos taken over the past few years.
This second work goes back in time from the previous work, and summarizes the days leading up to the previous work, from the encounter between the grandmother and the cat, Fukumaru.

One hot summer day, Grandma Misao's husband of 54 years passed away.
Ihara says that the way she accepted her husband's death without showing any tears, even though she felt great sadness, was as natural as watching a flower bloom and fall with each season.
Then, my days of photographing my grandmother began.
Eventually, a stray cat gave birth to a baby in the barn.
Grandma decides to watch over her.
However, Fukumaru's siblings who were born with him die one after another, and Grandma decides to take care of Fukumaru, who seems lonely and alone.
I was following the fields, doing the laundry, watching the cooking...
Fukumaru is a part of grandma's life.
Even if you lose something irreplaceable, no matter what kind of storm comes,
Even if happiness seems to overflow, those days are moments, days that will never come again.
If you can just live your life without getting upset, everything will be a good day.
Tomorrow will definitely be a good day too.
