About the author
Tiger Tateishi Tateishi
December 20, 1941 - April 17, 1998. Born in Ida-cho (currently Tagawa City), Fukuoka Prefecture.
Real name: Koichi Tateishi. Graduated from Musashino Art Junior College, Department of Entertainment Design.
In 1963, he exhibited his huge collage work "Community Society'' at the 15th Yomiuri Independent Exhibition, which attracted attention. In 1964, he established the Tourism Arts Research Institute with Hiroshi Nakamura. From the late 1960s, he gradually moved into the world of manga as Tiger Tateishi, but in 1969 he moved to Italy.
From 1971 to 1974, worked as a contract worker at Olivetti's Ettore Sottsass Industrial Design Institute. While engaged in design work, he exhibited oil paintings including the panel painting series at Iolas Gallery in Geneva.
He returned to Japan in 1982 and engaged in a variety of activities, including creating manga and picture books. In 1990, he changed his name to Oko Tateishi.
He created three-dimensional works such as the ceramic animal series and ceramic sculpture painter series. He also worked hard.
