A cat manages to sneak into the house of a junior high school English teacher, Kusaya Chinno, and ends up being kept as a pet. This is a story about observing Kusaya Sensei's family and friends who come to his house.
My husband, Kusaya Sensei, is a person who has many hobbies but doesn't really get into anything. Strange cultural figures such as the esthetician Meitei, the physicist and student of the teacher Kangetsu, the philosopher Doksen, and the poet Dongfeng come to the house and do nothing but chat about nothing useful. Hey, the cat thinks.
One day, a rich woman in the neighborhood named Kaneda announced that she wanted Kanzuki to marry her daughter Tomiko.
However, there is a condition for that: if Kanzuki becomes a doctor. This arrogant attitude angers Mr. Kusaya.
