Categories:Creators' Artworks
Yasuo Otsuka, a master of the animation world, is said to be "unparalleled when it comes to drawing mecha vehicles.'' An art book that explores its origins is born!
At the end of the Pacific War, young Otsuka was impressed by the steam locomotives he saw in his hometown and began sketching.
When the Allied forces arrived at the same time as the defeat of the war, he was fascinated by the military vehicles and pursued the principles of movement.
His observational eye has produced dynamic illustrations, and he has been a driving force behind Japanese animation since its early days.
He created famous car scenes that amazed the world in works such as "Lupin the Third: The Castle of Cagliostro''.
Furthermore, he used his vast mechanical knowledge to help create the model. He contributed to the birth of Tamiya's popular series "Comic Mini 4WD''.
This book unravels Yasuo Otsuka's mechanical world through the composition of "Lupin the Third'' and mechanics, military vehicles, models, RC cars, mini 4WD, and locomotives.
Also includes colored papers contributed by animators who admire Otsuka.
The story behind the birth of "TV Series Lupine the Third Part 1'' and contributions from celebrities who are close friends with Yasuo Otsuka will be published.
This is a gem of a book that looks back on Yasuo Otsuka's achievements in many fields.
