Sasuke - Masahisa Fukase

Review(0)

Categories:Creators' Artworks

Masahisa Fukase has loved cats all his life. This book is the definitive collection of photos of Sasuke, the main character of Fukase's cat photos, and his sister Momoe.
This newly created book, from photo selection to editing, transcends the genre of cat photography and positions "Sasuke'' as the core of Fukase's work development.
In addition, we will unravel the many photographic expressions explored through "Sasuke" - the pure experience gained from knowing the subject and the customer, and the perception that combines visual and tactile senses.
A photo book that provides an important perspective on the world of Masahisa Fukase's works.

At the end of the book, the text "Pure Experience Called Love'' by Tomo Kosuga is included.

?gI have been taking many photos over the past year while crawling on my stomach at cat's eye level, so I have become a cat. Taking photos while playing with whatever I like in the midst of nature is a happy process. Instead, I wanted to capture the love of a cat while reflecting in its eyes. So this photo book could be called a "self-portrait'' of myself in the form of Sasuke and Momoe.''
From Masahisa Fukase's "Cat's Straw Hat'' (Bunka Publishing Bureau, 1979) (Author)
