A collection of 12 short comics created by Katsuhiro Otomo from 1976 to 1977 when he was 22 or 23 years old, in the order of publication. Contains works mainly from the short story collection "Short Piece'', the author's first book published by Kisoutengaisha in 1979 (republished by Futabasha in 1984), two stories from the book "GOOD WEATHER'' (1981) published by Kitansha, and three stories including the title story from Futabasha's "Highway Star'' (1979). None of the works are included in a book for the first time, but all of the previously mentioned books are out of print, so currently only the works can be read in this book. Of course, all the included works are high quality, based on the latest data derived from the original original drawings, with areas that have deteriorated over time repaired, and printed on high-quality paper. Manga artist and film director. Born in Miyagi Prefecture.
Debuted in 1973 in "Manga Action". His representative works include "Domu'' and "AKIRA.''
In 1988, the animated film "AKIRA" that he produced received high praise outside of Japan and became the forerunner of the Japanese anime movement (Japanimation) overseas.
In 2013, received the Medal with Purple Ribbon from the Japanese government. In 2014, he was awarded the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government.
2015, 42nd Angoul?me International Comics Festival Grand Prize (France).
